Altogether 15 Indians, including Tajinderpal Singh Toor, Avinash Sable, Parul Chaudhary, Annu Rani and Murali Sreeshankar, who medalled in the previous Asian Games have been named in the country’s athletics squad for the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya Games.

Other 2022 medallists returning to the Asiad include Rajesh Ramesh, Jyothi Yarraji, Ancy Sojan, Vithya Ramraj, Mohammed Afsal, Tejaswin Shankar, Gulveer Singh, Praveen Chithravel, Manju Rani and Prachi Choudhary.

The squad: Men: Gurindervir Singh (100m, mixed 4x100m relay), Animesh Kujur (100m, 200m, mixed 4x100m relay), Vishal T.K. and Rajesh Ramesh (400m, 4x400m relay), Manu T.S. (4x400m relay, 4x400m mixed relay), Dharamveer Chaudhary and Mohammed Ashfaq (4x400m relay), Jay Kumar (4x400m relay, 4x400m mixed relay), Mohammed Afsal and Krishan Kumar (800m), Yoonus Shah (1500m), Gulveer Singh (1500m, 5000m, 10000m), Avinesh Sable (3000m steeplechase), Yashas P. and Santhosh Tamilsaran (400m hurdles), Murali Sreeshankar and Shahnavaz Khan (long jump), Praveen Chithravel and Kartik Unnikrishnan (triple jump), Dev Meena and Kuldeep Kumar (pole vault), Sarvesh Kushare and Aadarsh Ram (high jump), Karanveer Singh and Tajinderpal Singh Toor (shot put), Yashvir Singh and Rohit Yadav (javelin), Damneet Singh and Praveen Kumar (hammer), Tejaswin Shankar and Thowfeeq N. (decathlon), Sawan Barwal and Kartik Karkera (marathon) and Pranav Gurav (mixed 4x100m relay).
