Drug menace emerges as key plank in Amit Shah’s campaign for Punjab polls

Scarcely would the campaign trail for the West Bengal elections grow cold that Union home minister Amit Shah will be directing his attention to Punjab, with a visit scheduled for next month and targeting the drug menace in the State that shares an international border with Pakistan.

The State Assembly elections in Punjab are due next year and the BJP, by bringing over to its side seven Rajya Sabha MPs from the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the State, has signalled that the battle has commenced.
