A 28-year-old crew member of the film Jailer 2 was electrocuted at the shooting spot near Panaiyur on East Coast Road (ECR) on Thursday.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Karthikeyan, who was engaged in electrical connection work at the shooting spot. During the course of work in the afternoon, he accidentally came into contact with a live electric connection and was electrocuted.
On being alerted, the Kanathur police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, and sent it to a government hospital for post-mortem examination. A probe is under way.
Sources said actor Rajinikanth was scheduled to join the shoot at around 2 p.m. on Thursday, but the schedule was cancelled following the incident.
