Gaja Capital, an early investor in RBL Bank, is set to become India’s first listed private equity player, with its ₹550 crore initial public offering (IPO), slated to hit the markets next week.

The offer consists of a fresh issue of ₹450 crore and ₹100 crore offered-for-sale by promoters. The company fixed the price band of the IPO between ₹ 152 to ₹ 160 per equity share and can be bid in lots of 93 shares or multiples thereof.

Subscription for the company’s IPO will be open between August 18 and August 20. Gaja Capital plans to get listed on both National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange on August 26 2026.

The company, which backed Fractal Analytics and Eggoz, plans to invest the proceeds on “Sponsor Commitments to certain existing and new funds and for repayment of the Bridge Loan Amount to existing and new funds.” The deployment of the net proceeds is expected to spread out over the next three years.

The company’s board of directors constitute former regulatory chiefs like UK Sinha, former SEBI Chairperson, Manish Sabharwal who is on the advisory board of CAG and former RBI board member, in addition to market veterans like Prithvi Pal Singh Haldea, the founder of PRIME Database.
