Ingenuity, the helicopter that flew over Mars

Ingenuity, the helicopter that flew over Mars

Posted on April 17, 2026 By admin

This NASA photo shows NASA’s Ingenuity Mars Helicopter achieving powered, controlled flight for the first time on another planet, hovering for several seconds before touching back down on April 19, 2021. The image was taken by the Navigation Camera, or Navcam, aboard the agency’s Perseverance Mars rover from a distance of 210 feet.

Have you ever dreamt of flying? A common, recurring theme in dreams, it symbolises freedom and liberation, and a sense of empowerment as one rises above challenges they are confronted with.

For decades, nay centuries, or should we say millennia, flying was just that — an unfulfilled dream for humanity as a whole. It might be hard for you to imagine such a world as you see airplanes often enough when you look up at the skies. Thank the Wright brothers for that.
