Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer Simple Energy on Wednesday launched the Simple Wave, a new range of electric scooters aimed at family buyers.
The Simple Wave range comprises three variants and is available in six colours — Pearl White, Coral Red, Twilight Black, Polar Blue, Dolphin Grey and Forest Green. The company claims the scooters offer an IDC range of up to 243 km and storage capacity of up to 70 litres, including a 4-litre auxiliary storage compartment called the ‘Pill’.
The new lineup includes the Simple Wave S, Simple Wave and Simple Wave+, with a total of five models across the range.
Speaking at the launch, Suhas Rajkumar, Founder and CEO of Simple Energy, said the company had started with the belief that electric mobility could be engineered differently in India and had since developed the technology, manufacturing capabilities and product platform to bring that vision to life.
“With Simple Wave, the company is entering the family scooter segment, one of the largest and most consequential categories in Indian two-wheelers. It has been engineered as a product that brings practicality, comfort, and reliability together,” Rajkumar said.
Prices for the Simple Wave range start at ₹1,09,999 (ex-showroom), with deliveries scheduled to begin in the last week of September 2026.
The range-topping Simple Wave+ is powered by a 5 kWh battery pack and offers a claimed IDC range of 243 km and a top speed of 90 km/h. It is equipped with a 6.4 kW PMSM motor that produces 179 Nm of wheel torque.
The lineup is also available with 3.7 kWh, 2.7 kWh and 2.2 kWh battery configurations, offering claimed IDC ranges of up to 171 km and 110 km, respectively. All variants come with Ride, Eco and ECOX riding modes, while higher-spec versions also get a Sport mode for enhanced performance.
According to Simple Energy, the Wave has been designed with practicality in mind. It features a 1,347 mm wheelbase and can carry a payload of up to 150 kg. Both the battery pack and motor have an IP67 rating for protection against dust and water.
The Simple Wave range comes with portable chargers and supports both standard and fast charging. The top-end variant can reportedly charge from 0 to 80% in as little as 2 hours and 15 minutes using the fast-charging system.
