Nandyal police hand over 549 recovered mobile phones to owners

Posted on July 25, 2026 By admin

Nandyal police handed over 549 recovered mobile phones worth nearly ₹1.06 crore to their owners as part of the sixth mobile recovery mela at the district police office on Saturday.

Handing over the mobile phones which were either stolen or lost, Superintendent of Police (SP) Suneel Sheoran said that 4,189 mobile phones worth ₹7.95 crore had been recovered so far by the police. The SP mentioned that the phones were traced from various States including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa, and Telangana, as well as from districts within Andhra Pradesh such as Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, Nellore, Guntur, Kurnool, Kadapa, and Anantapur.

He said that mobile phones had become an integral part of people’s lives and that they use them frequently to share family, business, and professional information. He advised everyone to handle their phones with care, as they contain sensitive personal information and banking data.

The SP said that the Nandyal district police were paying special attention to resolving cases involving lost or stolen mobile phones. He urged the public to register their details on the www.ceir.gov.in portal or send a “Hi” message via WhatsApp to 9121101107 if they had lost their mobile phones.
