Virat Kohli, RCB Craze Hits PSL As Fan’s “Jersey” Gesture Viral During Babar Azam’s Match

Virat Kohli, RCB Craze Hits PSL As Fan’s “Jersey” Gesture Viral During Babar Azam’s Match

Posted on February 28, 2024 By admin

In a rather unusual sight, a fan donning the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)’s special green jersey went viral during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The fan was seen cheering for Babar Azam and Peshawar Zalmi during their game against the Lahore Qalandars on Sunday. The big screen spotted the fan after Babar hit Mohammad Imran for consecutive boundaries in the fifth over of Zalmi’s innings. Taking to social media, fans shared picture of the man wearing RCB’s iconic jersey, which has been synonymous with batting maestro Kohli.

Fans admired the man’s gesture for Kohli and RCB, despite Babar, who is also one of the finest batters, in action.

Here’s how internet reacted:

As far as the match is concerned, Peshawar Zalmi inflicted fifth straight defeat on Lahore Qalandars, despite Rassie van der Dussen‘s century.

Saim Ayub slammed 88 off 55 balls while Babar and Rovman Powell ably contributed with 48 and 46, helping Zalmi post 211/4 on the board.

In reply, van der Dussen slammed 104 off just 52 balls, but didn’t have any support from any other batter.

Chasing 212, Qalandars fell short by 8 runs in their end, a fifth straight defeat for the two-time defending champions.

Meanwile, Kohli is currently out of action after pulling out of the ongoing five-match Test series against England, citing personal reason.

Kohli revealed recently that his wife Anushka Sharma gave birth to their second child on February 15. The couple were blessed with a boy, who they named ‘Akaay’.

Kohli will now be seen in action for RCB during the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

MS Dhoni‘s Chennai Super Kings, who are the defending champions, will take on Kohli’s RCB in the opening match of the tournament on March 22.

As the general elections will be held this year, the schedule for the first 21 matches has been announced so far.
