Kamala Harris’ Running Mate Tim Walz, Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi To Speak At DNC Today

Posted on August 21, 2024 By admin

Live: On the third day of the event, the theme will be “A Fight for Our Freedoms”.

The 2024 Democratic National Convention continues today with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the running mate of Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, set to deliver the keynote address. As the convention enters its third day, anticipation is high for Walz’s speech.

In addition to Walz, prominent figures such as former President Bill Clinton, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries are scheduled to speak. Wednesday’s theme is “A Fight for Our Freedoms,” where Democrats will emphasise the importance of Harris as a defender of American freedoms and argue that former President Donald Trump poses a significant threat to the nation.

On Tuesday, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama captivated the audience with their powerful speeches, receiving standing ovations. In his remarks, Obama criticised Trump, stating that the US cannot afford another four years of chaos.

Here are the Live updates of the US Democratic Convention day 3:

Pureval is the first Asian-American mayor in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Indian-American Mini Timmaraju, who is the president and CEO a reproductive rights advocacy group, on Wednesday urged US voters to elect Vice President Kamala Harris as the next president to protect women’s rights, which she said is under threat from her rival Donald Trump.

“When abortion is on the ballot, we win,” said Timmaraju during her address on the third day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

“In California, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, Ohio, and Vermont, voters sent a message: Come for our rights, and well come roaring back,” said the CEO of Reproductive Freedom for All, Timmaraju.

Democratic National Convention Live: Day 3 Begins With Vedic Prayer
The third day of the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday kicked off with a first-of-its-kind Vedic prayer where the priest sought blessings for a united country.

“Even if we have differences, when it comes to the nation, we have to be united and it moves us towards justice for all,” said Indian-American priest Rakesh Bhatt as he formally started the third days’ proceedings of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago.

“We should be in unison. Let our minds think together. Let our hearts beat as one. All for the betterment of society. May this make us powerful so we can unite and make our nation proud,” the senior Hindu priest said.
