Chennai Super Kings star cricketer MS Dhoni enjoys a huge fanbase all around the world and reports of his potential retirement at the end of the season has made IPL 2024 more emotional for his fans. Both fans and experts have been in awe of Dhoni’s tactical genius and explosive batting over the years but his batting appearances have been few and far between this season. Legendary South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn opened up about the impact of Dhoni in IPL 2024 according to him and even expressed his wish of watching the veteran cricketer bat more in the competition.

“Not only has it engulfed the IPL. That’s engulfed many South Africa and myself, to be honest with you, I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I seem to be glued to the seat when the IPL is on my girlfriend says that my TV is broken, it’s stuck on cricket right now IPL and watching MS the other night. That’s exactly what we want to do.”

“You know, I’ve been on the receiving end of it before. I’ve watched it from a fan’s point of view, I loved it. I mean, I am a much better mood because of what I’ve just seen. So can we get more of MS Dhoni out in the middle? That would be great,” he further added on Jio Cinema.

Dhoni turned back the clock during the match against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 as he slammed three back-to-back sixes to score 20 runs in just 4 deliveries at an astonishing strike rate of 500.

“The young wicketkeeper scoring those three sixes helped us a lot, that proved to be the difference. We needed those 10-15 extra runs for this kind of venue,” CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad said.
