Mumbai Indians players, down after facing yet another defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 campaign, had smiles on their faces again, thanks to ‘Rohit Sharma‘ chants on the streets of Jaipur. Mumbai Indians players, ahead of their IPL match against the Rajasthan Royals, found their team bus stuck in traffic. In little time, fans gathered around the team bus and began chanting Rohit Sharma’s name. The chant ‘hamara captain kaisa ho‘, also buzzed for a while as the Hitman acknowledged the fans’ love from the bus window. (IPL 2024 Points Table)

Rohit is a fan favourite and there’s no denying that. No matter where the Hitman has played this IPL, fans have gathered to support him in huge numbers. At the Wankhede stadium, Mumbai’s home ground, the support Rohit has received is staggering. But, even in Jaipur Rohit found fans signing his name.

Earlier, Mumbai Indians had also shared a video on social media in which a fan helped, wearing the name ‘Sunny’ on the back of his shirt, helped clear the traffic so that the team bus could move.

The match ended in a 9-wicket defeat for Mumbai who were at the losing end for the 5th time in 8 matches so far this campaign. After the game, MI captain Hardik said that his team has to admit its flaws.

“What we can do is learn from this game and the mistakes which we have made, rectify it and make sure that we don’t make it. Progression is very important. Within the team, individually, we will have to accept our flaws and maybe work on those. I don’t believe much in chip and chop, I like to back players and the focus would always be to play good cricket, sticking to our plans and making sure that we don’t make the basic errors. Cricket is simple, as long as we keep it simple, it’s nice, ” Hardik said.

He also admitted that the team’s fielding on the day wasn’t up to the mark.

“I don’t think it was our best day in the field as well. Overall, we did not put the right foot on the park and eventually, they outplayed us. After the game, it’s not the right time to go to the players, everyone is professional, they know their roles,” he asserted.
