Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam was involved in a rather funny incident during his side’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) match against Karachi Kings on Monday. The incident took place ahead of the start of Karachi Kings’ chase when Babar was walking out to field, with Rovman Powell walking besides him and talking to the commentators. Babar was arranging the field for the start of the second innings, with the spider cam following him. However, he got scared by the spider cam’s movement as he thought that the device might hit him.

The incident went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi qualified for the PSL playoffs after beating Karachi Kings by 2 runs.

Captain Babar scored 51 off 46 balls to help his team post 147/6. In response, Karachi Kings could only manage 145/5, falling short by 2 runs.

Babar has been under pressure since the ODI World Cup 2023. He lost his Pakistan cricket team captaincy amid struggles with form in international cricket.

Recently, in a social media video, a group of fans cane be heard jeering at Babar .

The fans were heard as referring to Babar Azam as ‘Zim Babar’. After some time , Babar Azam stared back at them and even came close to throwing a bottle of water.

Recently, former Pakistan cricket director Muhammad Hafeez claimed that ex-captain, Babar Azam and foreign coaches Mickey Arthur and Grant Bradburn had given team fitness lowest priority in the lead-up to the ODI World Cup in India. Pakistan, under then-skipper Babar, had failed to make it to the semifinal knockout round, losing five of the nine league games and finishing fifth.
