Rahul Gandhi acting as a ‘toolkit’ for foreign forces says Nitin Nabin

Rahul Gandhi acting as a ‘toolkit’ for foreign forces says Nitin Nabin

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Nabin on Monday (November 2, 2026) accused Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of leading those trying to create “anarchy” in the country and acting as a “toolkit” for foreign forces attempting to destabilise India.

A day after the Opposition INDIA bloc, led by Mr. Gandhi’s Congress party, held a gathering at Delhi’s Ramlila Grounds over allegations of ‘vote theft’ and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Mr. Nabin held a procession in Kolkata titled ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’. The march which was joined by thousands of supporters was a show of strength for the saffron party.

“Rahul Gandhi is acting as a toolkit of those forces which engineered the unrest in Nepal and other neighbouring countries. If you think you will destabilise India, if you think you will work as a toolkit for those who are destabilising Europe, those who are destabilising Bangladesh or Nepal, then know that Indian democracy is very strong ,” Mr. Nabin alleged.

The march, organised under the banner ‘Save Democracy, End Anarchy’, began at College Street and proceeded towards Dharmatala in central Kolkata, with hundreds of BJP supporters including Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and State BJP president Samik Bhattacharya joining the procession.

Targeting the Congress for “trying to spread anarchy in the entire country by targeting constitutional institutions of the country” Mr. Nabin said that if the Congress had fought for the issues of the people, the people would not have rejected the party.

“They say the democracy and Constitution are under threat whenever they lose elections, but when they win elections conducted by the same Election Commission of India,” Mr. Nabin added.

He cited the victory of Congress party in Keralam Assembly elections and asked, “Had SIR been the issue, how did Congress win in Keralam?”

The BJP leader said that all the anarchy had been eradicated from West Bengal on May 4, when the BJP came to power, defeating Mamata Banerjee. Raising questions about the new bonhomie between the Congress and Mamata Banerjee, Mr. Nabin said that during the Assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi came here and spoke against corruption and misrule of the Mamata Banerjee regime and now both are sharing the stage.

Mr. Nabin said that the Congress and its allies are not interested in the welfare of 140 crore people in the county and in interested in the well-being of only three crore infiltrators.

SIR means remove infiltrators says Suvendu

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, who also spoke at the culmination of the rally, said that for the BJP the SIR stood for ‘Remove Infiltrators, Save India’.

“Those who have united to save themselves from corruption, imprisonment and to protect their families and bring back the politics of appeasement should remember that the Bharatiya Janata Party was elected in West Bengal in 2026 with 2.92 crore votes. For us, SIR means ‘Remove Infiltrators, Save India’. That is why they are trying to create anarchy in the state,”Mr. Adhikari said.

The first BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal warned Opposition parties that they would face a decisive political response in the forthcoming Kolkata and Howrah municipal corporation elections.
