Over 50 residents of Muthazhagupatti and K.K. Nagar located along Dindigul-Palani Road on Tuesday (October 20, 2026) blocked the road over irregular water supply to their areas.

The residents carried empty pots and staged the road blockade. They said though they submitted multiple complaints with the Corporation officials, the issue was not resolved. They said there were flaws in the installation of drinking water pipeline. Even after this was pointed out, the authorities had failed to take any action, they said.

They said they were forced to purchase water due to severe shortage. Corporation and police officials held talks with the protesters and assured them that necessary steps would be taken to restore the water supply. Following the assurance given by the authorities, the protesters dispersed.
