Officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have summoned former Minister and senior YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Ambati Rambabu in the alleged ₹250-crore liquor transport scam case.
The ED served notices on Mr. Rambabu on Friday, directing him to appear before the investigation officers on September 24.
It was alleged that the former Minister had close association with a few YSRCP leaders who had taken the contract to transport liquor from the depots to shops.
The YSRC leaders had allegedly caused huge loss to the government (in the ₹250 crore scam) during the previous government’s term.
The officials asked Mr. Rambabu to appear for investigation with details of bank transactions for the last few years, along with other documents.
