The Mukulam portal developed by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) will enable equal opportunities in competitive examinations for public school students in Keralam through the use of artificial intelligence (AI), Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen has said.

He was speaking after inaugurating Mukulam AI-based portal as part of the government’s 100-day programme here on Tuesday.

The Minister said initiatives such as Mukulam would help the higher secondary sector achieve excellence. These should be implemented in schools effectively.

Mukulam will provide higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students free AI-based training to prepare them for entrance tests such as NEET, JEE CUET, KVPY and for admission to IISER.

Required support

Students unable to take private tuition owing to financial difficulties will benefit from Mukulam. AI has been integrated into the portal to identify individual students’ learning requirements and provide required support and practice.

After successful implementation as a pilot project in 25 select schools, Mukulam has now been extended to reach all higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students in the State.

Digital learning material in around 10 subjects across Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams are available on the website.

Workshop

The Minister also inaugurated a one-day workshop for Principals of higher secondary schools on the occasion.

Director of General Education Arun K. Vijayan presided over the function. KITE Chief Executive Director K. Anvar Sadath were present.
