The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday (September 8, 2026) alleged irregularities behind the addition of BJP MP Raghav Chadha’s name in Delhi’s voter list even as poll officials rejected claims of any irregularities. Mr. Chadha’s name was included in the electoral rolls of the Rajinder Nagar Assembly constituency.
Addressing a press conference, AAP Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “The Election Commission committing ‘farziwada’ (fraud) is nothing new… When the SIR process is underway and there were 746 voters in the booth in the draft roll, through what process did Raghav Chadha become the 747th voter?”
The office of Delhi Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), in a statement, said: “25,011 Form 6 applications had been submitted between August 31 and September 7 and that these, along with the earlier applications, are “under process”. Once approved, the addition is reflected in the electoral database. However, the actual addition to the electoral roll is to be published in the supplementary electoral roll on November 4.”
The draft electoral rolls for Delhi were published on August 31. On September 3, Mr. Chadha’s name was deleted from Punjab’s draft roll, following which he had stated that he would get his vote registered again in Punjab, from where he was sent to the Rajya Sabha by his previous party AAP.
Mr. Chadha said in a statement, “I seem to be haunting Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party. I have followed all applicable ECI guidelines and procedures and availed the prescribed remedies.”
