Karun Nair’s ton props up KSCA Secretary’s XI

Karun Nair’s ton props up KSCA Secretary’s XI

Posted on September 7, 2026 By admin

Karun Nair (104, 183b, 12×4, 1×6) starred for KSCA Secretary’s XI against Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh on the first day of their Dr. (Capt.) K . Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Monday.

Karun was part of the South Zone squad for the Duleep Trophy, but could not find a place in the eleven for the semifinal and the ongoing final against East Zone in Chennai.

South Zone coach Vikram Verma told reporters in Chennai on Monday that Karun left the squad due to “personal reasons”.

“He went (home) with personal reasons. He left for his home, he mailed and took permission. Due to personal and family reasons, he left,” Vikram said.

Vikram stated that Karun was dropped to accommodate a left-hand batter. “We went with a good combination because every team has two left-arm spinners. So we thought a left-hand batter in the middle-order would give him a chance to dominate them. We thought what is best for the team. In the first match (semifinal held at Bengaluru), we gave a chance to a youngster K. Himateja. Now since (Devdutt) Padikkal has come back (for the final), this is the team combination,” Vikram said.

At Mysuru, contributions from skipper Harshil Dharmani (83), Samit Dravid (68), Hardik Raj (54) and N. Samarth (52 n.o) helped KSCA Combined XI posted 369/7 against Himachal Pradesh CA at the SDNR Wadiyar stadium.

The scores: At Bengaluru: Gujarat CA 379 in 74.2 overs (Urvil Patel 80, Vishal Jayswal 150, Shikhar Shetty 6/92) vs. KSCA President’s XI 26 for no loss in five overs.

Vidarbha CA 310/4 in 85 overs (Satyam Bhoyar 47, Yash Rathod 111, Danish Malewar 87 n.o.) vs. Goa CA.

KSCA Secretary’s XI 277/7 in 90 overs (Karun Nair 104, Ritesh Bhatkal 62 n.o., Dev Aditya Singh 4/34) vs. Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh.

Madhya Pradesh CA 298/6 in 90 overs (Atharv Mahajan 55, Yash Dubey 32, Shivang Kumar 131 n.o., Sagar Solanki 56 n.o.) vs. Baroda Cricket Association.

UT Cricket Association (Chandigarh) 179 in 41 overs (Arjun Azad 40, Akshit Rana 57, Madhav Bajaj 4/49, M. Keerthi 4/30) vs. KSCA XI 165/7 in 36 overs (Macneil Hadley Noronha 79).

Mumbai CA 330/4 in 89 overs (S. Divyaansh 114, Angkirsh Raghuvanshi 50, Musheer Khan 68, Akash Anand 57 n.o.) vs. Maharashtra CA.

At Mysuru: KSCA Combined XI 369/7 in 90 overs (Harshil Dharmani 83, K.P. Karthikeya 40, Samit Dravid 68, Hardik Raj 54, N. Samarth 52 n.o) vs Himachal Pradesh CA.

Jharkhand State CA 256 in 82.1 overs (Kumar Suraj 58, Aditya Singh 107 n.o., Sathyanarayana Raju 4/58, Madhav Rayudu 5/46) vs Andhra CA 3/1 in one over.
