Man held within 30 hours in murder and rape of 21-year-old nurse

Posted on August 31, 2026 By admin

Pahadishareef police arrested a 34-year-old bike mechanic within 30 hours of receiving a complaint in connection with the murder and alleged rape of a 21-year-old nurse at Thukkuguda.

The accused was identified as Md. Sanaullah, a native of Begusarai district in Bihar who worked and stayed at a bike mechanic shop .

According to the police, the woman’s aunt lodged a complaint around 3.20 p.m. on August 29 after the victim’s friend informed her that the woman had not come out of her room since morning and was not responding to repeated knocks. The room was entered through a window and the woman was found lying dead with bleeding injuries on her face.

Police said their investigation, supported by technical evidence and specific information, led them to Sanaullah, who was apprehended on the evening of Sunday (August 30, 2026).

According to the police, Sanaullah had come to Hyderabad in 2023 and learnt bike-mechanic work at Uppal. Around two months ago, he moved to Thukkuguda and started working at a bike mechanic shop. Police said he had noticed the woman through a rear-side window of the shop about a month before the incident and allegedly began watching her movements.

Police alleged that he subsequently planned to sexually assault her. During the intervening night of August 28 and 29, he allegedly entered her room through a window around 12.30 a.m. When the woman woke up and raised an alarm, he allegedly covered her mouth and caught her by the throat. During the struggle, she allegedly bit his left little finger and scratched his throat and chest.

Police said Sanaullah then allegedly assaulted her on the face, pushed her down and strangled her before sexually assaulting her. He allegedly closed the window and left the place.

A mobile phone and clothes of the accused were seized. Police said scientific, technical and other corroborative evidence was being collected and analysed as part of the investigation.
