Kakinada MP calls for death penalty in family suicide case

Kakinada MP calls for death penalty in family suicide case

Posted on August 25, 2026 By admin

Kakinada MP Tangella Uday Srinivas on Tuesday (August 25, 2026) demanded capital punishment for Sk. Sadhik Khan for allegedly driving Assistant Engineer Mr. Nooka Raju’s family to take their own lives on August 16.

Mr. Sadhik Khan was sent to judicial remand on Monday (August 24) in connection with a case involving charges of murder, extortion, and forcing the victim to convert to another religious faith. On August 16, Mr. Nooka Raju, along with his wife, daughter, and grandson, jumped into the Godavari River, and only the grandson survived.

Accompanied by Mr. Nooka Raju’s ten-year-old grandson, Mr. Srinivas met with Kakinada District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad on Tuesday to discuss security for the boy, as he had been threatened by Mr. Sadhik Khan.

In an official release issued after meeting with the Collector, Mr. Uday Srinivas stated, “Mr. Sadhik Khan allegedly threatened to hand over Mr. Nooka Raju’s grandson to terrorists. A detailed inquiry by the Central Intelligence agencies into this threat has been sought during the talks with the Collector.”

Regarding the assets of Mr. Nooka Raju’s family that have reportedly been taken over by Mr. Sadhik Khan, Mr. Srinivas has appealed to the Collector to initiate action to protect those assets that belong to the boy.

Meanwhile, the ten-year-old boy, grandson of Assistant Engineer Mr. Nooka Raju, on Tuesday demanded punishment for Sk Sadhik Khan. After meeting with the Collector, the boy spoke to newsmen at the Kakinada Collectorate. “Mr. Sadhik Khan came into contact with me at my school in the third grade and convinced me to join his rifle shooting academy,” the boy said. He stated that Mr. Sadhik Khan had physically assaulted his mother repeatedly.
