Six-year-old run over by lorry after falling off bike near Perumbavoor in Keralam

Posted on August 24, 2026 By admin

A six-year-old boy was killed in a road accident at Nedungapra near Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district, Keralam, on Monday.

Joshua Basil, son of Basil, a native of Nedungapra, was run over by a lorry after falling off the bike his father was riding, according to police sources.

The accident took place around 8.30 am when Mr. Basil, along with his son, was returning home from a nearby shop. The boy fell off the two-wheeler allegedly after his father applied a sudden brake to escape the speeding lorry which came from the opposite direction, it is learnt.

Though Joshua was rushed to a nearby hospital, his life could not be saved.

The Kuruppampady police said they were recording the statements as part of registering a case.
