ACB finds irregularities in Karimnagar civic body town planning section

ACB finds irregularities in Karimnagar civic body town planning section

Posted on August 19, 2026 By admin

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Karimnagar Range, found several irregularities and deficiencies during a surprise check at the Town Planning Section of the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation on August 18.

During the inspection, the ACB officials verified office records, revenue-related transactions, pending applications and the overall functioning of the section. They found deficiencies in supervision and maintenance of records, monitoring of revenue collections, disposal and pendency of petitions, accountability in field enquiries and the use of official user credentials.

The officials also noticed deficiencies in providing information and facilitating members of the public.

The surprise check further indicated the presence of unauthorised middlemen or mediators allegedly collecting money from members of the public in the name of facilitating official work. Further verification into the matter is under way, the ACB said.

A detailed report on the observations made during the surprise check will be submitted to the government for further action based on the findings of the detailed verification and applicable law.

The ACB urged members of the public to report any demand for a bribe by a public servant by calling its toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be made through WhatsApp at 9440446106 and the Telangana ACB’s social media platforms.

The ACB said the identity and details of victims or complainants would be kept confidential.
