State-owned NMDC reported a nearly 2% year-on-year (YoY) increase in standalone net profit to ₹2,007.40 crore in the June quarter.
The increase came on a 2% YoY jump in revenue from operations to ₹6,795.25 crore, India’s largest iron ore producer said.
CMD Amitava Mukherjee said “NMDC has begun FY27 on a strong footing, with higher production and improved profitability reflecting the resilience of our operations and the discipline of our strategy. The momentum is firmly underway towards achieving our target of 60 million tonnes of production in the current financial year and scaling up to 100 MT by 2030.”
NMDC’s iron ore production in the first quarter of current fiscal stood at 15.12 MT, showing a 26% growth YoY . Sales stood at 11.73 MT, an increase of almost 2% YoY.
“Our focus is now on scaling volumes, improving productivity and unlocking greater value from our mineral resources. As India moves towards a larger and more self-reliant industrial economy, NMDC will continue to play a central role in securing the iron ore needed for the nation’s next phase of growth,” Mr. Mukherjee said in a release.
