Kerala Minister visits Pareeksha Bhavan in wake of complaints of delay in certificate issue, directs changes

Posted on August 13, 2026 By admin

Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen conducted an inspection at Pareeksha Bhavan in the State capital on Thursday (August 13, 2026) in the wake of complaints of delays in making corrections in SSLC exam certificates and issuing duplicate certificates.

The Minister directly heard the grievances of applicants who had reached Pareeksha Bhavan and gave instructions for immediate action.

He understood that there was a delay of two to three months in making corrections in SSLC certificates or issuing duplicate ones, and directed officials to implement speedily ways to avoid delays.

The officials informed the Minister that the current delay was owing to certificate details having to be sent to schools and then returned after corrections. The Minister said that changes should be brought about to avoid such a situation.

Mr. Samsudheen said 60 laptops had been made available to Pareeksha Bhavan towards this objective. Certificates should be issued within 15 days of receipt of applications, he said.

More staff

Mr. Samsudheen also saw for himself that complaints of phones not being attended at the Pareeksha Bhavan reception were true. He directed the Pareeksha Bhavan secretary to equip the reception and Pareeksha Bhavan supervisors with mobile phones for applicants to submit their details. More staff should be appointed at counters so that applicants do not have to wait in queue inordinately long.

The Minister also directed the Pareeksha Bhavan joint commissioner to monitor the implementation of the instructions and report to him.

The Director of General Education was also tasked with preparing guidelines in this regard.
