Tribal culture, rooted in harmony with nature and shaped by generations of sustainable living, represents one of the strongest foundations of human civilization and offers valuable lessons for humanity, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said on the occasion of World Tribal Day.

In a message released on Sunday (August 9, 2026), the Chief Minister said tribal communities have traditionally regarded nature as divine and forests as their mother, preserving their unique identity, customs and cultural heritage while maintaining a close relationship with the environment. He said the knowledge systems, traditions, collective way of life and environmental consciousness of tribal societies continue to inspire humanity and remain relevant in the modern world.

Mr. Reddy observed that tribal communities have made environmental conservation an integral part of their lives for generations. Their sustainable lifestyle, respect for natural resources and community-oriented social structure offer important guidance for future generations, he said. The Chief Minister noted that the wisdom embedded in tribal traditions demonstrates the importance of living in balance with nature and protecting ecological resources.

Calling for greater recognition of tribal communities, the Chief Minister urged all sections of society to respect and safeguard the rights, identity and cultural heritage of Adivasis. He stressed the need for collective efforts to ensure their welfare, development and self-respect while preserving their distinct customs, traditions and way of life. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to tribal welfare, he said continued efforts would be made to promote the empowerment, progress and socio-cultural well-being of tribal communities across Telangana.

Meanwhile, World Indigenous People’s Day celebrations were held at the Komaram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan on Road No. 10, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, under the leadership of Mr. Adluri Laxman. MLC Ketavat Shankar Naik attended the programme, while Mahabubabad MP Porika Balaram Naik and Tungaturti MLA Mandula Samuel were among the prominent participants.

The leaders extended greetings to members of the Adivasi community and highlighted the importance of protecting tribal rights, culture, traditions and identity. They called upon society to work collectively for the welfare and empowerment of tribal communities and to preserve their rich cultural heritage. Tribal leaders, community representatives and supporters also participated in the event, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding indigenous traditions and promoting the interests of Adivasi communities.
