One more held in alleged murder case in Kozhikode

The Nadakkavu police have arrested another suspect in connection with the stabbing death of a 39-year-old man near a bar on Mavoor Road in Kozhikode.

The accused, identified as K. Vipin, a native of Nallalam, was nabbed after a three-day investigation into the incident. With this, the number of persons arrested in the case rose to three.

Earlier, the police had arrested Najeeb Mohammed, a native of Karunagappally in Kollam, and Naushida, a resident of Naduvattom.

The victim, Adil Roshan, a resident of Naduvattom, was allegedly stabbed to death following an altercation that began inside a bar near Mavoor road on July 31, 2026.

According to the police, Adil and the accused were known to each other and had long-standing disputes over financial transactions and certain personal issues involving one of the accused. On the day of the attack, the group reportedly gathered at the bar and later locked horns over some personal disputes.

As the arguments heated up, the bar staff intervened and asked the group to clear the spot. Investigators found that once outside, the accused attacked Adil with a knife as part of a pre-planned assault.

Adil, who sustained fatal stab injuries on his chest, was declared dead at a private hospital in Kozhikode city. The accused who allegedly fled the scene in an autorickshaw after the incident, were later tracked by a special squad from Nadakkavu police station.
