Delhi firm proposes ₹100-crore flight training school in Andhra Pradesh

Delhi-based Knots Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. has expressed interest in setting up a Flight Training Organisation (FTO) in Andhra Pradesh, with a proposed investment of around ₹100 crore over the next five years. The proposal was discussed at a meeting between Investments and Infrastructure Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy and the company’s representative, Athiraj Singh Chawla, at the Secretariat on Thursday (July 23, 2026).

The company, which has experience in pilot training infrastructure, aviation training programmes and domestic as well as international training services, proposed setting up the FTO either at Nagarjuna Sagar Airport or Kurnool Airport. According to the company, the project is expected to generate employment for nearly 100 people in the initial phase.

Knots Aerospace also told the Minister that it planned to expand its fleet of training aircraft from six to 20 within five years as part of the proposed flight training centre. The expansion is aimed at strengthening pilot training capacity and building a modern aviation training sector in the State.

Welcoming the proposal, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said the project could create employment for youth while helping them acquire the skills needed in the aviation sector. He assured the company that the State government would extend all possible support once it submitted a detailed project proposal.
