Haryana BJP launches ‘Tiffin Meetings’ in its 4,729 Shakti Kendras for stronger connect

After completing the reconstitution of 377 mandals – a mid-level organisational unit that oversees party activities for 40-50 polling booths – the Haryana BJP is now turning its focus to grassroots outreach with a Statewide exercise to strengthen 4,729 Shakti Kendras – a micro-organisational unit that groups together five-six booths.

Addressing workers from Panchkula at the State office ‘Panchkamal’ on Sunday, and later other districts online, State president Archana Gupta said strengthening Shakti Kendras was “the need of the hour.” Ms. Gupta directed that simultaneous meetings be held at all Shakti Kendras on July 21.

Sharing food

In a new twist to party gatherings, these meetings have been designated as ‘Tiffin Meetings’. Under the plan, every worker, office-bearer and speaker attending a Shakti Kendra meeting will bring a packed meal from home and share it collectively.

“When all party workers, office-bearers, speakers and public representatives come with tiffins from their homes and eat together, it will strengthen mutual camaraderie,” Ms. Gupta said.

Chief Minister Nayab Saini will preside over the meeting at Pinjore Shakti Kendra with a tiffin from home. Ms. Gupta will attend the Rai Shakti Kendra in Sonipat, also with home-made food. Organisation secretary Phanindranath Sharma will be present at the Gannaur Shakti Kendra.

She instructed that all BJP office-bearers, workers and elected representatives living within a Shakti Kendra’s area must attend.

Key tasks

The leadership also stressed three key tasks: forming booth committees, listening to the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at all booths, and uploading details on the party’s ‘Saral’ portal. Special emphasis was placed on the party’s ‘Digital Learning Program’ for workers.

Party leaders said the ‘Tiffin Meeting’ model is aimed at building stronger connect and coordination at the booth level ahead of the upcoming organisational and electoral challenges.
