The Greater Chennai Police, in association with Easwari Engineering College, organised a ‘Drug Free Tamil Nadu-2026’ awareness programme at the college campus in Ramapuram on Wednesday.

Greater Chennai Police Commissioner A. Amalraj, participated in the event and urged students to stay away from drugs and adopt healthy habits during their college years. He highlighted the physical, mental, and social consequences of substance abuse and cautioned students about the long-term impact of drug addiction on their lives and careers.

Appealing to the students to play an active role in building a drug-free society, the Commissioner asked them to serve as ambassadors against drug abuse by spreading awareness among their peers and within their communities.

As part of the programme, students took the “I am Against Drugs” pledge. The Commissioner also launched the “I am Against Drugs” signature and selfie awareness campaign to reinforce the anti-drug message among the youth.
