Artist Sayeeda Ali to host painting workshop in Visakhapatnam

As a child growing up by the sea in Visakhapatnam, Sayeeda Ali found herself drawn to colours long before she could put her emotions into words. Living with dyslexia, she discovered painting as a language of its own. One that allowed her to express feelings, memories and stories with remarkable honesty.

Today, that deeply personal journey has evolved into an acclaimed artistic career spanning decades, with solo exhibitions in India and abroad, including a landmark exhibition at Mumbai’s Jehangir Art Gallery in 1997.

The globally acclaimed artist is returning to her hometown to conduct ‘Let Your Soul Paint’, a two-hour guided painting experience at Ocean Vista Bay on July 4.

Open to beginners and experienced painters alike, the workshop is designed to make art accessible to everyone. Participants need no prior painting experience. They will receive a 12×12-inch canvas, a curated painting kit and all art materials, while Sayeeda personally guides them through the creative process. Each artwork will also receive her signature finishing touch before participants take it home.

For Sayeeda, painting is a lot more than mastering technique. It is about embracing imperfections, slowing down and reconnecting with oneself, she says. “Art gave me a voice when words couldn’t. Through every brushstroke, I hope people also discover a part of themselves,” says Sayeeda.

The beachfront setting at Ocean Vista Bay has been chosen deliberately to inspire calm and creativity. The two-hour session includes high tea and snacks.

Having trained under eminent artists and developed a style inspired by Nature, vibrant colours and everyday moments, Sayeeda believes everyone has an innate creative instinct waiting to be explored. Her workshops focus on making art an enjoyable, mindful experience rather than a lesson in perfection.

The workshop will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Saturday, July 4, at Ocean Vista Bay. The participation fee is ₹2,500 per person, with limited seats available through prior registration.

To register, contact 90140 84488.
