A remembrance meet marking the death anniversary of S. Anil Radhakrishnan, who was Chief of Bureau of The Hindu in Thiruvananthapuram, was inaugurated by Transport Minister C.P. John on Tuesday. He recalled the late scribe as emotionally neutral and factually strong, describing him as a model worth emulating.

At the event, jointly organised by Anil Radhakrishnan’s family and the Kesari Memorial Journalists’ Trust, the book Ila Rekhakal (Leaf Sketches), written by journalist T.P. Gayathri, who won the Anil Radhakrishnan fellowship, was released.  The book takes a deep dive into the lives of women tea plantation workers in Munnar, capturing their daily struggles against discrimination, patriarchy and unfair labour practices.

Anil Fellowship Committee Chairman M. Vijayakumar presided over the event. Mini Sukumar, a former member of the State Planning Board, introduced the book, placing it in the context of the long-standing struggles of women, especially in the labour sector.

Kesari Memorial Trust chairman Schiller Stephen, former Raj Bhavan PRO S.D. Prins, KUWJ State committee member Suresh Vellimangalam, Janam TV Chief Editor Pradeep Pillai, Kesari Trust secretary Anupama G. Nair, Tourism entrepreneur P.I. Dileep Kumar, The Hindu Kerala Resident Editor S Anandan, and the late Anil Radhakrishnan’s wife S.S. Sindhu spoke.
