Vietnamese conglomerate VinGroup, with interests spanning automobiles, real estate, technology, healthcare and education, has launched an all-electric taxi service in Delhi-NCR using its auto company VinFast’s cars, marking its entry into India’s ride-hailing market.
Called Green SM Limo, the ride-hailing service was launched on Friday (June 5, 2026) and will initially operate across parts of the Delhi-NCR region with a fleet of 1,000 company-owned vehicles. The company plans to gradually expand its coverage and enter other cities in line with customer demand. Bookings can be made through a smartphone app or in operational zones.
While the cars will be owned by the taxi service provider, drivers will initially be employed on a fixed-salary model before being transitioned to a revenue-sharing arrangement as the business scales up.
Green SM Limo vehicles are also fitted with the Secure-to-Safe safety system, which includes interior and exterior cameras, AI-powered technology, and emergency support buttons for both drivers and passengers, it said in a press statement.
