Newly-appointed Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra said on Friday (May 30, 2026) that he will work to complete the restructuring of the Delhi BJP unit and focus on filling any gaps in the organisation.
Mr. Malhotra also said that the party will also focus on taking the message of the pro-people schemes and policies of the BJP government in the Centre and the State to the people through its volunteers in all 13,000 booths of Delhi.
A day after taking charge as president of the Delhi unit, Mr. Malhotra said that teams in the districts will be formed in the next 15-20 days and appointment of office bearers and frontal organisations will be completed in next two months.
He said that his immediate focus will be on the fortnight-long programmes in June marking 12 years of the BJP government at the Centre. Immediately after taking charge on Thursday (May 28), he held a meeting with party MPs, MLAs, councillors and district presidents to discuss preparations for the programmes, which include plantation drives, cleaning drives, public meetings, among others.
The Delhi BJP president also said that the party will work to support the efforts of its government in Delhi to serve the people and the coordination between the government and the state unit has been good since the beginning.
Regarding the 2027 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls, Mr. Malhotra said that the BJP is not a party that starts preparations for the elections at the last moment and added that they are always working on the ground. He added that election-specific work will be done in the last five to six months.
