Man held on charges of supplying ganja through his minor son

Posted on May 16, 2026 By admin

The Ashok Nagar police arrested a man on charges of supplying ganja through his minor son.

The accused, identified as Ramesh, was remanded in judicial custody, and the boy was sent to the Government Observation Home in Kellys. The police said the case came to light after officers received a tip-off about ganja being sold in Ashok Nagar.

Acting on the information, the police intensified surveillance and detained a man allegedly smoking ganja in public. During interrogation, the man told police that he had purchased the narcotic substance from a boy at a public park in Ashok Nagar.

A special police team then kept watch in the area, apprehended the boy and questioned him. The inquiry revealed that the ganja distribution network was allegedly being operated by his father, Ramesh.

Investigation further revealed that Ramesh had 15 criminal cases registered against him, including cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The police said he allegedly used his son to distribute ganja in an attempt to avoid suspicion. Further investigation is under way to identify others linked to the network.
