Welcoming Tamilaga Vettri Kalagam (TVK) leader C Joseph Vijay on assuming office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the Federation of Revenue Associations (FERA) assured to cooperate with the new government in implementation of welfare programs for the people.
In a joint statement issued by the coordinators of FERA stated that the members wholeheartedly welcomed the new Chief Minister, who has secured the mandate of the people to lead the State in an innovative path. The revenue employees spread across the different districts have been responsible in carrying forward the welfare schemes and the benefits to the needy people.
Despite challenges, the TNROA general secretary S Sankaralingam said that they had toiled much in the past and brought in laurels by effective implementation of the populist schemes of the government. Likewise, the new government under the leadership of Mr Joseph Vijay would keep their promises made in the manifesto to the employees welfare.
While there are many demands, the FERA coordinators said that the implementation of the old pension scheme by the new government would send strong signal to the thousands of employees and their families that the government would keep its promise.
The old pension scheme should be revived and it would give a fillip to the employees on their superannuation. The government should find ways to bring in revenue and thus execute the long pending demand of the members.
TNVAOMS state president A Boopathi and general secretary C Kumar, TNSOU general secretary Anna Kuberan and TNRVEA general secretary S Ravi were signatories to the memorandum. A delegation would shortly meet the Chief Minster in person and submit a comprehensive memorandum, they added.
