A local holiday has been declared for Karur district on May 27 in view of the Sri Mariamman Temple festival.
The festival is to be held from May 10 to June 7. The highlight of the festival is sending the ‘kambam’ to the Amaravathy river, scheduled to be held on May 27.
June 6 would be a working day in view of the local holiday, Collector G. Ravikumar said in a press release.
