Baranica Elangovan set a new National record (4.23m) to win the women’s pole vault title in the Indian Indoor Open combined events and pole vault meet at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Baranica bettered her own record of 4.22m, set at the inaugural National Indoor championships in the last week of March at the same venue. She crossed 4.23m on her third attempt.
