Nayara Energy’s refinery expected to recommence operations after planned maintenance mid-May

Nayara Energy’s refinery expected to recommence operations after planned maintenance mid-May

Posted on April 28, 2026 By admin

Strengthening India’s domestic production of liquified petroleum gas (LPG), Nayara Energy’s Vadinar refinery in Gujarat, which shut down for maintenance April 9, is expected to recommence operations somewhere in the middle of May, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas told reporters here at the daily inter-ministerial briefing Tuesday.

“Nayara [Energy’s Vadinar refinery] is expected to come next month somewhere around mid-May,” she said.

Amidst the ongoing tensions in West Asia, India has increased domestic production of the bottled cooking gas to about 46,000 tons a day. This is expected to receive a further boost once the Vadinar refinery returns to operations after the planned maintenance.
