Women cricketers and match officials on the domestic cricket circuit are set for a windfall, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) deciding to revise the match-fee structure.

The Hindu understands that the BCCI apex council during its online meeting on Monday evening decided to hike the match fees for women’s cricketers by 150% while the umpires and match referees will see at least a 25% hike with the new structure in place.

A BCCI official, preferring anonymity, confirmed that senior domestic women’s cricketers will now be paid ₹50,000 per match day for multi-day and one-day games and ₹25,000 per match day for T20s.

The reserves will be paid half of it.

According to the last revision in 2021, the senior women’s cricketers were paid ₹20,000 per match day for multi-day matches and ₹10,000 per match day for T20s.

An official announcement is expected to be made on Tuesday.

It is also learnt that the apex council decided to defer from umpires’ gradation model to league and knockouts/major match model for rewarding umpires and match officials.

As a result, an umpire/match referee will earn ₹40,000 and ₹50,000 per match-day (junior and senior) for league stage and knockouts or super league matches, respectively.

For the time being, Grade A umpires are paid ₹40,000 match day while others are paid ₹30,000 per match day.
