Lauding the Union Budget for the upcoming year, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday (February 1, 2025) called it historic and revolutionary for the upliftment of the middle class and working classes of the society.

“This budget presented today is a historic budget, which will always be remembered in India. Respecting the tax payers and middle class of the country, the Modi government has taken a decision which people could not even imagine, where in the previous government there was a tax on income of ₹2 lakh, in Modi ji’s government there will be no tax up to ₹12 lakh,” he said.

On the other hand, criticising the Budget, Congress State President Deepak Baij said it had no direct relief, concession or subsidy for the people struggling with unemployment and inflation.

“There are lakhs of vacancies in Central departments, Navratna companies and government undertakings but no action plan is visible in this budget to fill them. This budget will not be for the common people, it will be for some of the businessmen only…The government has done nothing for the people,” he said. He also alleged that there was nothing for Chhattisgarh in the Budget.
