Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi on Monday (January 6, 2025) left the Assembly without delivering his customary address to the Assembly.

His complaint was that National Anthem was not played after the Tamil Thai Vazhthu. He insisted the National Anthem be played, but that did not happen.

The Constitution of Bharat and the National Anthem were once again insulted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly today. Respecting the National Anthem is among the first Fundamental Duty as enshrined in our Constitution. It is sung in all the state legislatures at the beginning and the end…

He was present in the House for hardly three minutues. The Governor’s speech was then read by Speaker M. Appavu.

After the Governor left the House, the main opposition AIADMK members holding placards and raised slogans demanding justice for the student sexually assaulted in Anna University.

The Congress members walked out to condemn the action of the Governor.
