The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president, Mayawati, on Wednesday (October 14, 2026) demanded the regularisation of contractual employees working under various government departments in Uttar Pradesh, urging the State government to include them in its recruitment plans of one lakh permanent jobs.

In a post on X, BSP chief said, “Recently, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced it will provide government jobs to one lakh people within the next six months, but it would have been better if the people who have been working temporarily for years in all the government departments should also be included in the permanent job scheme,”.

The BSP chief added that the party is against the exploitative system of outsourcing and contracting, especially in the government system.

“In any case, the BSP is against the exploitative system of outsourcing and contracting, especially in the government system, and that is why the party demands that, in order to restore government jobs, it would be appropriate if all the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) contractual workers who have been serving continuously for the past several years under the NRHM are also regularised in the health department. They have been on a dharna near the Honourable Shri Kanshi Ram Ji Eco Garden in Lucknow for the past several days in support of their demands for regularisation, etc,” said Ms. Mayawati.
