Financially beleaguered airline SpiceJet on Thursday (September 3, 2026) said it has entered into agreements to induct 20 aircraft between October and November.

These comprise 15 Boeing 737s and five Airbus A321s. The inductions will help the carrier add 200 flights.

From over 90-aircraft fleet pre-pandemic, SpiceJet is now down to just 11 aircraft, which include two Q-400s, six Boeing 737 NGs and three Airbus A320s. Multiple lessors of its aircraft and engines have sought insolvency proceedings against the airline over unpaid rentals, some of which were later settled.
