Farmers from Matolli village near Bailhongal in Belagavi district have complained to the Forest Department saying that they spotted a leopard near the village on Tuesday night.
They said that the animal’s movement has been captured on a CCTV camera of a house.
This has created an atmosphere of fear in the village. And, a team of forest officers has been rushed to the village to keep watch.
Farmers told the officers that the wild animal has moved towards a jackwell near a field. Some officers from Bailhongal Police Station also visited the village.
