Leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest in Mysuru on Friday, accusing the Congress of politicising the alleged NEET-UG paper leak and instigating students for political gains.

A large number of BJP workers gathered at Ramaswamy Circle, holding placards against the Congress and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the party was creating unrest in the country over the NEET-UG issue.

Addressing the protesters, former Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha said Prime Minister Narendra Modi acted swiftly after reports of the alleged paper leak surfaced by cancelling the examination and ordering a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. He claimed that those involved in the alleged leak had been identified and action initiated, but accused the Congress and other vested interests of continuing to exploit the issue for political purposes.

The protesters also raised slogans against the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which is leading a student movement in Delhi.

City BJP president L. Nagendra and other party office-bearers participated in the demonstration.

The protest in Mysuru is part of the Statewide protest planned by the BJP against the Congress party, which too is staging demonstrations across the State and the country on the issue.
