Raise public issues during monsoon session of Parliament, Jagan tells YSRCP MPs

Posted on July 16, 2026 By admin

YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing the YSR Congress Parliamentary Party meeting on Thursday.

YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday said governance in Andhra Pradesh completely collapsed and directed the party MPs to raise people’s issues, corruption, illegal cases, farmer distress, employee problems, rising debt and scams in both Houses of Parliament during its monsoon session beginning on July 20.

Addressing the YSR Congress Parliamentary Party meeting, Mr. Jagan said the interests of people must remain the party’s foremost priority and asked them to raise their voice in Parliament, and reiterated YSRCP’s support to the Women’s Reservation Bill.

He alleged that serious irregularities took place in the filling of DSC posts, including appointments without candidates even writing the competitive examination, and land allotments across the State have become arbitrary and corrupt.

He said a massive loot was taking place in the construction of Amaravati with the costs exceeding ₹20,000 per square foot, a rate unheard of anywhere in the country. Farmers who refused to give their lands under the pooling scheme were being harassed and their lands forcibly taken, he alleged.

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said those exposing government failures or questioning the ruling party were being harassed with false cases and arrests. In the name of social media, he said, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was unleashing severe repression and getting people arrested at will, and told the MPs to raise these attacks on democratic rights in Parliament.

He also directed the MPs to take up the problems faced by teachers due to the mandatory TET requirement and highlight the alleged distribution of public assets like freebies to private parties. Ports and harbours were being privatised, he said and questioned how the nearly completed Ramayapatnam Port, worth around ₹5,000 crore, was handed over for just ₹1,500 crore.

Rajya Sabha members V.Y. Subba Reddy, Meda Raghunath Reddy and Golla Baburao, YSRCP Floor leader in Lok Sabha P. Mithun Reddy, MPs M. Gurumoorthy, Y.S. Avinash Reddy and Gumma Tanuja Rani, former MPs Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose and Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy were among those present.

App launched

Later, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the official ‘Jagan 2.0 Super App’ at the YSRCP central office, describing it as a dedicated digital platform that would connect every party worker directly with the leadership and enable them to express their views without fear.
