The Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) conducted a mock emergency response and disaster management plan drill at the fuel farm facility at Bajpe near the old airport on Tuesday.
Held in coordination with the Aerodrome Rescue and Firefighting team, the drill assessed the preparedness of the fuel farm operations crew in handling fire emergencies and executing rescue operations effectively.
Personnel from the District Disaster Management Authority, State Disaster Response Force, Department of Factories and Boilers, and the State Fire Department witnessed the drill.
Through regular evaluations and joint preparedness exercises, the MIA continues to reinforce safety standards across its critical operational units, a release from the airport said.
