A 28-year-old person was killed after being hit by a garbage truck in Koyambedu on Saturday (May 16, 2026) night.
City Traffic police said B. Tharun Kumar, a native of Karur, was working as a tele marketing executive and during part time was also delivering groceries. On Saturday (May 16, 2026) night, Tharun Kumar was riding his two wheeler on the Jawaharlal Nehru Salai and as he was proceeding to take a left turn towards Kali Amman Koil street, a garbage truck operating for the Koyambedu Market Maintenance Committee hit him. Tharun Kumar was killed on the spot.
Koyambedu traffic Investigation police sent the body to Government Kilpauk Medical college hospital for postmortem. The police have arrested the driver and are investigating.
