Tiigers Of Kolkata’s Incredible Season Continues, Team Storms Into ISPL Final

Tiigers Of Kolkata’s Incredible Season Continues, Team Storms Into ISPL Final

Posted on March 15, 2024 By admin

ISPL: Tiigers of Kolkata won their semi-final match against Srinagar Ke Veer.

Following a dramatic victory, ISPL team Tiigers of Kolkata entered the final of the inaugural season of India’s first-ever street cricket tournament. As the Tiigers took to the pitch for their semi-final match against Srinagar Ke Veer, they carried the hopes and dreams of owners Aksha Kamboj, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, along with those of Kolkata itself.

In what many would consider a bold decision, The Tiigers of Kolkata won the toss and elected to field, restricting the team from Srinagar to 78 runs across the first innings. From the first ball, the Tiigers looked determined to win, with Raju Mukhiya emerging as the stand-out performer, taking 4 wickets and helping keep the Srinagar batsmen at bay. Babbu Rana also deserves credit, taking 3 wickets while conceding only 9 runs, capping off an overall impressive first innings by Kolkata.

On the batting front, Captain Prathamesh Pawar and Munna Sheikh led the charge, scoring 41 or the required 79 runs between them, with the Tiigers of Kolkata achieving their total in just 9 overs and winning the game with 5 wickets to go. Raju Mukhiya won the man of the match award for skilful bowling, while Pradeep Patil earned the catch of the match with a beautiful diving catch that took the third wicket for Kolkata.

This dominant performance sees the Tiigers of Kolkata storm into the ISPL Finals, as they face Abhishek Bachchan’s Majhi Mumbai in what many anticipate to be a thrilling and nerve-wracking game, with both teams eyeing the first ever ISPL trophy.
