The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange thunderstorm warning in six Telangana districts and a yellow thunderstorm warning in 20 districts for Wednesday, June 3

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning (thunderstorms) for six Telangana districts and a yellow warning for 20 districts for Wednesday (June 3,2026).

According to IMDs latest bulletin, an orange alert has been issued for Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial and Rajanna districts. Additionally, a yellow thunderstorm alert has been issued for Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.

Hyderabad city and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see a partly cloudy sky. “Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in parts of the city towards evening or night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 39℃ and 27℃ respectively,” the bulletin said.

Meanwhile, maximum temperatures across Telangana have continued to ease after weeks of intense heat that saw several districts record temperatures above 45℃ and 46℃. Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed that the highest maximum temperature recorded in the State on June 1 was 43.8℃ at Kattangoor in Nalgonda district.

This was followed by 43.6℃ in Neredcherla (Suryapet), 43.4℃ in Hajipur (Mancherial), 43.4℃ in Kamanpur (Peddapalli), 43.3℃ in Khanapur (Nirmal), 43.2℃ in Korutla (Jagtial), Parvathagiri (Warangal) and 43.1℃ in Dharmasagar (Hanumakonda), Palwancha (Kamareddy) and Asifabad (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad).

In urban locations, Marredpally in Hyderabad recorded 41.6℃ followed by 40.8℃ in Uppal (Medchal Malkajgiri)

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning in 10 districts for Wednesday.

According to IMD’s latest bulletin, the red alert (severe heatwave) has been issued for conditions are very likely to prevail in isolated pockets of Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts. An orange alert (heatwave) alert has been issued for Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal and Nizamabad districts.

Besides, warm night conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Nalgonda districts.

Meanwhile, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds are very likely at isolated places in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnoool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal districts.

Hyderabad and its surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see a partly cloudy sky. “Light rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in parts of the city towards evening or night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 41℃ and 29℃ respectively,” the bulletin said.

12 districts record maximum temperatures above 46C

Meanwhile, data from Telangana Development Planning Society showed 12 districts recorded temperatures above 46C on Monday, May 25.

Vemulapalle in Nalgonda was the hottest location in the State, recording a maximum temperature of 46.5C. This was followed by 46.4C in Pinapaka (Bhadradri Kothagudem), Dharmapuri (Jagtial), Dahegaon (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad), Aloor (Nizamabad), Garidepalle (Suryapet), 46.3C in Enkuru (Khammam), Kannepalli (Mancherial), Anthergoan (Peddapalli), 46.2C Chigurumamidi (Karimnagar), 46.1C Seerole (Mahabubabad), Wazeed (Mulugu) and 46C in Nirmal Rural (Nirmal).

The districts which recorded temperatures between 45C and 46C were Mahadevpur (Jayashankar Bhupalpally) at and Madnur (Kamareddy) at 45.8C, Sangem (Warangal) at 45.7C, Ichoda (Adilabad) and Boinpalle (Rajanna Sircilla) at 45.6C and Bejjanki (Siddipet) at 45.2C.

In Hyderabad and its surrounding urban belt, Dundigal Gandimaisamma in Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 43.3C followed by 42.6C in Chevella (Rangareddy) and 42.5C in Charminar (Hyderabad).

Temperatures continued to soar across Telangana on Saturday, May 16, with six districts recording maximum temperatures above 45℃, according to data released by the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS).

Tanur in Nirmal district emerged as the hottest location in the State, recording a maximum temperature of 45.8℃. This was followed by 45.5℃ in Bhoraj (Nirmal), 45.3℃ in Bheemgal (Nizamabad), 45.2℃ in Ibrahimpatnam (Jagtial) and 45.1℃ in Palwancha (Kamareddy) and Asifabad (Kumaram Bheem Asifabad).

The district which recorded temperatures between 44℃ and 44℃ 44.3℃ in Regode (Medak). The districts which recorded temperatures between 43℃ and 44℃ are 43.6℃ in Rudrangi (Rajanna Sircilla), 43.5℃ in Bheemini (Mancherial), 43.4℃ in Kohir (Sangareddy), Koheda (Siddipet), Yalal (Vikarabad), 43.2℃ in Gangadhara (Karimnagar), 43.1℃ in Balanagar (Mahabubnagar), Peddapalli (Peddapalli) and Farooqnagar (Rangareddy).

The districts which recorded temperatures between 42℃ and 43℃ are 42.8℃ in Dundigal (Medchal Malkajgiri), 42.6℃ in Ieeja (Jogulamba Gadwal), 42.5℃ in Asifnagar (Hyderabad), 42.2℃ in Bonakal (Khammam), 42.1℃ in Peddavura (Nalgonda) and 42℃ in Srirangapur (Wanaparthy).

The districts which recorded temperatures between 41℃ and 42℃ are 41.9℃ in Utkoor (Narayanpet), 41.6℃ in Cherla (Bhadradri Kothagudem), 41.5℃ in Peddakothapalle (Nagarkurnool), 41.3℃ in Neredcherla (Suryapet) and 41.2℃ in Mahadevpur (Jayashankar Bhupalpally).

The districts which recorded temperatures below 41℃ are 40.8℃ in Dharmasagar (Hanumakodna), 40.6℃ in Bachannapet (Jangaon), Chinnagudur (Mahabubabad), Tadvai (Mulugu), 40.5℃ in Rajapet (Yadadri Bhuvangiri) and 39.9℃ in Khanapur (Warangal).

India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert for five districts of Telangana for Sunday (September 8, 2024). Six districts have been forecasted to be under yellow alert. 

According to a weather forecast bulletin issued on Saturday (September 7, 2024), heavy to very heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in the Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem.

And, heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Khammam, Warangal, Hanamkonda.
